At the end of 2023, SR Supply Chain Consultants (SRSCC) celebrated a decade of excellence as a Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Centre of Excellence. Last year, SRSCC worked hard to maintain our ISO 9001:2015 certification, whilst introducing new Cyber Essentials Plus certifications. We also successfully guided over 80 commercial learners to completion, and expanded our team to over 30 full-time staff.
As we shift our gaze to 2024, and prepare for another trip around the sun, we wanted to give you a peek into what we’ve got planned.
New Courses and Apprenticeships in Focus
This year, SRSCC proudly introduces two new apprenticeship standards: Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner and Level 6 Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Professional. These standards enhance essential skills, incorporating project management and procurement expertise to handle complex tasks effectively. The Level 6 apprenticeship targets senior professionals, offering specialised knowledge in procurement and supply chain strategy.
While pushing these new apprenticeships as a priority, we remain dedicated to growing our existing CIPS courses and apprenticeships, emphasising the importance of continuous learning and professional development.
Exhibitions and Virtual Events
In 2024, SRSCC is set to participate in several exhibitions, including our own Careers Advice and Guidance Day during National Apprenticeship Week (register here). The team is also gearing up for the Shout Network Business Expo Lancashire in March and Procurex’s very first event in Liverpool in May, with additional events to be confirmed later in the year.
To further engage with learners and professionals, SRSCC will host free webinars throughout 2024, providing valuable insights and expertise in the field of procurement and supply chain.

Enhancements and Learner-Driven Changes
Responding to learner feedback, SRSCC has implemented various changes across its programs, including half-day sessions for increased flexibility, aligned assignments with modules, and spread safeguarding training throughout the curriculum. The introduction of onboarding days and friendly reminders before sessions aims to enhance the overall learning experience.
We will also strategically enhance our learning approach. SRSCC will be extending the time for exam study guides to ensure comprehensive preparation. We are also committing to providing one week’s notice before sessions caters to busy schedules.
SRSCC has also taken the decision to shift from Zoom to Microsoft Teams and Webinars to accommodate diverse workplace constraints. The addition of onboarding days and expedited End-Point Assessment (EPA) processes streamlines the learning journey, exemplifying our commitment to flexible and efficient supply chain education.
Staff and student successes
The year 2023 was marked by remarkable achievements, including the recognition of Lauren MacDonald as Apprentice of the Year. Paddy Sheridan-Ruddy, a Level 4 Commercial Procurement and Supply Apprentice, received the Daisy Corporate Services’ Apprenticeship & Graduates Award 2023. Additionally, Alicia Simpson, a Level 4 Apprentice at Ibstock, was nominated for ‘Make UK’s Business Apprentice: Final Year’.
SRSCC staff members also celebrated success, with Progress Mentors Emma and Nathalie achieving the NCFE Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, and Declan obtaining the CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing.
As SR Supply Chain Consultants looks forward to another dynamic year ahead, the team remains committed to providing top-class training, fostering growth, and celebrating the achievements of learners and staff alike. SRSCC extends its best wishes to all learners embarking on their educational journey, expressing the hope for continued success and accomplishment.
