At SR Supply Chain Consultants, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new procurement and supply course: the Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant Apprenticeship. We are taking enrolments now for a 3rd November 2020 start.
Level 3 is aimed at those from the public, private, and third sector, or for individuals who are new to procurement and supply and have very little experience. It is suitable for anyone who wants to gain a relevant, industry-recognised qualification in the field.
The Level 3 course is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), the professional body for the industry. Once completed, it can lead to more advanced procurement and supply roles in public, private, and third sector industries.
Want to know more? Below we answer some frequently asked questions regarding our apprenticeship standards:
Is this standard well-regarded amongst employers?
As a CIPS-recognised course, the Level 3 apprenticeship is well-regarded among employers in the procurement and supply industry. The qualification enables candidates to apply for entry-level positions or work on the job while gaining a recognised qualification. This can enable access to more advanced qualifications.
Am I too old to start an apprenticeship?
There is no particular age restriction for starting an apprenticeship. Anyone with an interest and desire to succeed can apply. School leavers, university graduates, and even people from other business functions wishing to start a new career are all eligible. Please note: Ages 24+ will be required to contribute towards teaching fees.
What qualification will I gain?
After completion of the course to the satisfaction of the examiners, course members will attain the Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant Apprenticeship Standard. This is a CIPS accredited qualification that is widely recognised in the industry.
How is training delivered?
Training is delivered by an experienced MCIPS-qualified procurement practitioner over 18 months. The course includes in-person and unique virtual learning environment (VLE) methods. Assessment is via a mixture of written course work, a presentation, a work-based project, and a question-answer interview.
What do I do when I’ve finished?
The qualification allows people to apply for a variety of roles, such as Procurement Coordinator, Procurement Contracts Coordinator, Purchasing Assistant, and Junior Assistant/Junior Buyer.
This includes roles in the NHS, Civil Service, Emergency Services, Construction, Hospitality, IT, and a variety of non-profit organisations.
The course also opens doors to more advanced procurement and supply certifications and advanced diplomas, including those at degree level.
